To start: I do not use the keyboard tray. Never have since I have to raise the chair height for my long legs, and the keyboard trays always sit too low.If you're wondering if a larger desk is worth it, my shoulders would say "Yes." For years I've stuck with the standard narrow desks which leave no room for the elbows rest on, and I've always had shoulder pain during long computer sessions. Even 2 hours was enough to make them sore. 4 or more hours and they'd be aching for at least a day. I've been through a few chairs due to wear and tear over the years, but not once did I think that a larger desk would make such a difference. I felt it from the moment I sat down: relief. I had never even noticed just how strained my shoulders were with the other desks because it was all I knew. Wish I had known sooner that a bigger desk would solve my problems!
