I ordered this to add to a desk I've had for a couple of years. The additional storage space and ability to add under-cabinet lighting to illuminate my workspace is nice. Assembly wasn't too difficult (did in about 45 minutes). I didn't put the backboard so I wouldn't hide the brick wall in my den and to easy with cord management. My only grip is that the veneer on the right-hand door was slightly nicked, but it's not a deal breaker. It would be nice if accommodation were made for sturdier connection to the desk, instead of just two corner brackets on the rear of the structure.I bought the matching L-form desk from Best Buy, but they weren't able to provide the hutch so I ordered from Amazon. Both desk and hutch are very good quality (for DIY laminate construction). Arrived in timely fashion in great shape with all parts present and accounted for. Instruction were quite above average, with unambiguous directions, clear drawings, and all parts clearly labelled. They're also very heavy. Some hints: 1: If you don't have one get an inexpensive cordless power screwdriver. 2: You'll need a LOT of space, 10' x 12' min. 3: Compare a hand count with the one provided so you'll know you have them all and know that you missed something if there are any left over. 4: Read all the instructions carefully before beginning, it'll save you time and grief later and you may well decide to change the order somewhat. 5: Set aside several hours for assembly 6: Unless you're very strong and big you're going to need help putting it on the desk. I guess that's it. Some hours of work but well worth it and well worth the price.I bought this along with the Bush "L" desk. Whereas I give the L desk a five star due to it's construction I give the hutch a three star. The hutch has no-where the durability of the desk. There are several areas which stick out such as the wooden bar in the top middle of the hutch is simply held on by glue instead of fasteners. When nailing the backboard onto the hutch, I put the nails where suggested but each nail made a slight upward furrow where the nail went in. The hutch looks good on the desk but it is held on by only two brackets in the back. This can cause an issue as the hutch can be moved back by accident and will push the rear brackets off of the desk. Bush should have come up with a design to use their connectors to 'lock' the hutch into place onto the desk. I wound up going to Home Depot and purchasing small 1/4" L-brackets which I used to secure the hutch to the desk. I p[laced the brackets on the inside of the hutch where they would not be seen and the brass fittings look great. Once this was done the hutch was securely fastened to the desk and the whole unit became much sturdier.A perfect match and goes well with matching desk.Color was beautiful. Definitely need more than 1 person to assemble. A lot of details, but just follow directions.same as the L desk that matches this hutch. Bought both. Assembly is overly complicated (poorly engineered). Worse part is the folded cardboard back that is nailed to the frame of the hutch. Crease right through the center of this backing board (from folding for packaging) looks absolutely horrid and I ended up removing it and just kept the painted wall in view. Requires glue as part of assembly and my doors needed lots of adjustment to get fit with even seams. I would never buy this cheapo particle board stuff again...especially at this price. Look is OK (with careful assembly), but I don't think it would stand up to any movement.I have this entire collection acquired over the last ten years. $1200 worth. This was the last thing i wanted. I like it except the backing piece is just a flimsy vaneer that requires alot of tiny nails and only 2 tiny L-shaped brackets holding the entire piece to the desk. I believe this backing and connection could use design and quality improvements. Its a big hutch to only attach with such hardware and seems easy to fail at some point. However, the wood is solid, smooth, and durable. Its worth it if they just make slight improvements. All other pieces in this collection are great and my office looks tremendous.Overall, I like this hutch. It goes perfectly with the matching L-shaped desk and file cabinet. I had no issues with missing hardware, damaged product, or shipping complaints.Only note of caution: be very careful with how you handle this product during install, as any scraping will leave marks in the material.
