Very nice desk, especially for the price (when I bought it, it was only $355.00, including shipping). It is a very sturdy desk. The cherry color was rich/dark and without the orangish tint that some cherry colors have. The photo makes the chair area look more spacious than it actually is. There's not much leg room on either side because the filing cabinets really cut into the surface underneath the desktop. It was very well packaged. It comes in 2 large boxes with a combined weight of about 300 pounds.A word of warning. It has to be assembled and it came with an extensive instruction book. There are MANY desk pieces and MANY fasteners. It took two of us about 9 hours to completely put it together. I am happy with the end result, but you should just be prepared for the labor involved. The desk is reversible if you need the shorter length (main desk) on the right side, so there are double holes drilled on the pieces.Assembly tips:1. Another reviewer mentioned a gap between the pieces. I had the same problem when attaching the extension piece to the main desk. There was a gap between the two panels under the desk (where the extension panel is supposed to attach to an ajoining panel on the main desk). Once I removed the main desktop and flipped it around, it fit correctly. You can tell if it is backwards by looking at the overhang on the lip of the desktop (the chair side has less overhang). That being said, I was assembling it in reverse of what is pictured (with the double drawers on the right side instead).2. Assemble it where you intend to place it. It weighs too much to move it once it is assembled. The only compliant I have is about the way the panels under the desk attach to the cabinets. You have to screw long wood screws through the inside of the cabinet and hope you hit the inside of the 1/2" edge of the panels. These panels are extremely heavy and the other end of the panel must be supported at all times or the screws will rip loose. These panels should have some heavy duty brackets attaching it to the cabinets since it would be impossible to move this desk (even across the room) without tearing the panels loose.I spent quiet some time debating on the Saratoga Managers desk, or the Saratoga L-Desk in this collection. I really wanted the pencil drawer and not the keyboard drawer, so I thought. While I wish the keyboard drawer could have been set up at a diagonal across both top pieces, and I am sure I could do it by drilling my own holes, I don't mind it where it is, and I don't miss the pencil drawer. The desk is taller than I thought it would be and would be too tall for me (I am only 5'5") if it didn't have the keyboard drawer. I also love the cord keepers that are attached, it comes with 3, I wish it had 6 but that's just because I have a lot of corded things on the desk. Overall 3 is good though. It's much bigger than I imagined it would be, which is nice because I use 2 full sized monitors and a laptop simultaneously. It has plenty of space for all of those and more. My office is Roughly 10x10 and it fits the desk, 1 bookcase and the lateral file very nicely. It did take some time to put together, and it is a 2 person job for some pieces of it. All the pieces are labeled and all of the hardware is labeled. Overall it wasn't hard though, the instructions are step by step illustrations, and each page shows you which pieces you need, and which hardware pieces you need to complete the steps on that page. Using a drill for all the screws will make things move along quicker. Also keeping in mind that because you can set this desk up in 2 directions there are pre-drilled holes you won't use, but it can make you second guess yourself while putting it together. Just keep the directions at your side the whole time, refer back to them often! It's a beautiful desk, and paired with the matching lateral file and bookcase it brings the room together nicely, I am so happy with my purchase. As someone who doesn't mind assembling furniture and isn't overly picky this desk is a fantastic choice. For those that don't like long and tedious work and are annoyed by the little things, I would rate this 4 stars instead of 5.Overall install time for me was about 5 hours. I've assembled a lot of my own furniture so for those with less experience it could take 6+ hours to complete. The build is extremely solid and the quality of the pieces is commercial quality and well worth the price. This desk is now apart of my home office and it looks extremely classy and is by far the centerpiece of the room. None of the pieces were damaged in transit, not even a scratch which speaks to how well it was packaged. For someone looking for an extremely high quality desk without paying 1k for it, this is a great go to.The only issues I have with the desk is that some of the connections aren't clean without a little extra work. For example, without priming some of the screw holes, some screws have trouble screwing in completely leaving tiny gaps. The gaps are eliminated after priming the holes but that just adds time to already tedious work. One thing I constantly found annoying was removing the stickers. On other furniture I've assembled the labels have easily peeled off, but these stickers are a little too strong and require scraping off the residue with your nail sometimes. The instructions are extremely clear and straight forward which made assembly very easy. The only complaint I had was that two types of screws are close in number (6825 and 7125 I think) and without closely looking at the full number you can easily get them confused as they are the same size but different head (I had to go back and switch the screws once I realized later). But overall a great purchase and the quality is worth more than the price!
