I agree with most of the other comments concerning the weight and looks of the finished product. My first regret is that I did not try to locate steel/metal cams to replace the cheap plastic cams included with the unit. My second regret is that I did not follow my intuition and use a good quality wood glue to further strengthen the unit. Even when turning the unit over to attach the back cover, it started to wabble. When I checked the plastic cams, they were as tight as I could get them. I've purchased this type of furniture in the past, but they always came with the metal/steel cams and provided excellent stability. I strongly recommend Sauer spent a few extra cents and return to providing good quality metal/steel cams for future shipments. Since most of the plastic cams that came with the unit are readily accessible after completing the built, I wonder if it's possible to replace them with good quality steel/metal cams. We’ve had this desk for about 2 years now and it has held up really well. We are currently moving and didn’t think we had room for it witb the hutch but am so relieved the hutch is able to come off so the desk can come with us, yay!Great desk. This is the 4th Sauder furniture I’ve purchased. However, you absolutely need 2 people to put this together. The directions are pretty good but it took the two of us several hours. Some pieces we had to figure out ourselves but it wasn’t difficult. All the hardware came clearly marked. It is one heavy desk, too! I love the desk.Took way too long to assemble, nice product and good value. Update: if you plan on moving this unit to a different location, I wish you all the best. The attachments/assembly hardware will snap instantly with just a little bit of pressure, given that this unit weighs at least a couple hundred pounds. After having this desk for only two months and trying to move it up the ramp of a U-Haul truck, I ended up taking a hammer to it and throwing it in the trash. Basically it’s particleboard, very cheap materials and assembly parts. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for! Enjoy*If IKEA furniture assembly difficulty level is a 10, I would rate this desk assembly at 8. I put it together by myself (very capable middle aged female) in under 3 1/2 hours. No power tools required.*Looks fantastic for a home office piece. Love all the little shelves!*Box arrived damaged, turned out that it affected the desktop: has a nasty dent.Seller was very quick to respond and made it right! I chose to keep it as-is + partial refund since damage was not in my way.*overall: highly recommend.Love my desk! The team was professional and timely.Great describes only issue I had was prob from delivery cause package was boxed real good there were 1 dent and I scratch dent was on the bottom so I am not worried my 14 year old helped put together. Please check with delivery service cause not shippers problem as delivering company issueLove the color and looks very nice. It's HEAVY! It came in two packages weighing over 100lb each, so I needed help bringing them in. putting it together is also a 2-person job. For the most part it's well-engineered and the instructions are thorough. Putting on the back and getting the door and drawers to be straight took almost half of the six hours it took to put together. The backing is flimsy and on the monitor side it would look a lot better with smaller cut-outs for the cords rather than gigantic perforations for an entire monitor. But other than that I'm really happy with it. It's solid and has so much space for my stuff, and there is plenty of usable surface space. The computer cupboard keeps my computer nicely out of sight and there is ample drawer space. The little shelf below the keyboard tray is perfect for my power bar.Note that it's not white. It's more of a light cream colour with strips of light brown to make it look like it's been whitewashed, sorta.Arrived very quickly and the desk is high quality. It does require 2 people to put together and it took us about 4 hours. You need space to spread out and you will need to flip the desk onto its back.It was very well packaged in the boxed (2 large heavy boxes). The pieces were labelled well for the most part. Some pieces have the numbering or lettering marked on them using black marker in spots that won't be seen, while some others have no labelling but you can figure out what parts they are by comparing the image to the instructions. The instructions were 36 pages long. The colour of the desk is beautiful and the finish is very smooth.Only tools needed hammer and a phillips (star) screwdriver.Just fabulous! I am very impressed. A very solid piece of furniture that was easily assembled now sits in my office looking charmingly "Nantucket." I certainly don't have any complaints however, the back board to the desk had sustained a nasty injury in the form of two large dents/breaks in the wood during transit. The company may want to look into that for future shipping. It took a while to get here. They had to resend it twice because the shippers kept making mistakes, but that wasn't the company's fault. They have excellent costumer service and there were no additional costs despite the problems. When it finally arrived, in two heavy boxes, everything was packaged nicely and the material was high quality. There was nothing missing. It took me about six hours to put it together, but the instructions were clear so it wasn't hard.It looks beautiful and exactly like the picture, so I'm very happy with it.Bureau pour ordinateur
