What a perfect student desk for a girls room. The desk surface is a vacuum formed surface with gently rolled edges. This durable PVC laminate makes this item a great choice for any child's room. The pink and lavender large folding canvas drawers give plenty of storage to meet your needs. The drawers rest gently on the shelf and have canvas handles on both sides of the drawer for pulling out of the unit, or pulling completely out and taking with you to another room in the house. Constructed of composite board and highly durable PVC laminate. Clean with a dry non abrasive cloth. Assembly required.
6-Removable, foldable canvas drawers (3-purple and 3-pink)

Easy to clean and durable PVC laminate

We have had this desk in my daughters room for nine years now and it has held up very well. I was concerned about the fabric drawers/bins being packed too full and the potential that they would buckle under the weight but they are still in the same shape they were in when new. This piece has also survived being moved twice. The height of the desk has been perfect for her through both middle school and high school. The bins are wide and deep and can hold a lot of stuff. She has used the drawers for clothing so they have been heavily utilized without issue. Three of the bins are pink and three of the bins are purple. The color of both the desk and the bins are exactly as pictured. I am very happy with this purchase. This desk is very easy to assemble and took me maybe 30 minutes once I got all the pieces to the 3rd floor of my house (2 story on stilts). The box was extremely heavy (I could barely slide it on the ground) and since I'm pregnant I opened it outside and made about 4-5 trips up two flights of stairs to safely carry the pieces. It did come double boxed, but a corner of the desk was smashed a little from shipping. I just lived with it because it was the back corner anyways and not really noticeable and does not affect the functionality or stability of the desk.I checked the most recent reviews and am shocked no one complained about the odor as complained in older reviews (which I read as well, but figured since no one was recently complaining it was no longer an issue). I left all the pieces in a spare room for 24 hours thinking they would air out. Then I assembled the furniture the next day (I also bought the matching bookcase), but honestly the room has an odor now and it's not a pleasant "new furniture" smell. It stinks! The first night I let my daughter sleep in my room because of the smell. The smell still concerns me.Does anyone have any tips on deodorizing the furniture? I wiped it all down with Clorox wipes, but I'm thinking I need to do something else. I was thinking of using Febreeze on the canvas totes as well because those also stink. I know the smell will dissipate eventually, but it does concern me with my daughter sleeping in the room with the door closed all night. The drawers are very big...almost too big because if you fill them they will likely bend and buckle. They are made of canvas.I also bought the Kidkraft Avalon Chair in Raspberry, which matches nicely, but the chair is WAY TOO short for this desk. Do NOT buy that chair to go with this desk even though Amazon recommends that chair with this desk. You can literally slide the entire chair under the desktop and when my daughter sits in it the desktop is just below her neck (she's in Kindergarten). Someone recommended the Flash Furniture Ergonomic Task Chair so I ordered that to try instead.Overall, I gave it 4 stars because of the stinky odor and the very narrow leg space. This desk was purchased for my 6 year old daughter. She absolutely loves it. It has plenty of workspace and storage. The "bins" for lack of better term are really nice and a neat idea. They are also reversible with handles on both sides should one ever break, but I do not expect that will happen. When I 1st got the desk the handles were creased and I couldn't straighten them. I figured out that I could steam them with an iron and the creases came right out. Assembly took about 45 minutes and I think this thing is nice and solid with good bracing to last. The opening for a chair is fairly small. I purchased a small purple office desk and it matched nicely. It doesnt go all the way under the desk but thats not a problem. I think some other reviews about the smell were over exaggerated in my case. There was a little wierd odor but it was in no way overwhelming. I wiped the desk down with antibacterial wipes as I do everything anyway. The smell faded quickly...not an issue. I rate this desk 5 stars without hesitation and recommend it for those wanting a nice desk for kids.Great desk with lots of storage. We homeschool so have 3 of these, 2 boy (blue and aqua) and 1 girl (pink and purple) so we mixed and matched all the drawers. Also bought cute chairs at Walmart the came in same color as drawers and it completed the look. The only reason I give it four stars is they require two people to move because they aren't that sturdy when moving around the room. The only thing holding it all together is the top and one board in the back. Overall, I would recommend. It is fairly easy to put together, but takes a while, even for an experienced builder like me. It is really heavy! The space in between the two drawer sides seems really small, just about fits a desk chair. Great storage though, fits a TON of stuff, the drawers are really big (not super strong, but I didn't expect that from canvas drawers). Overall, good first desk for my Kindergartener, and the price here was the best I have found on the internet. But once my 5-year-old does stop drawing on everything I will get her the desk my 7-year-old picked. I don't have the name of it right now. It was only $10 more and it puts together within 10 minutes, it does not have a single screw. Both my daughters got to pick their own desk, I would have probably picked two of the ones without the screws. When this came, it was boxed nicely and all parts were there, which is a relief as I've had missing parts for assembly-needed furniture before. The desk was not too hard to put together, it probably took me an hour or so. It is nice to have one other person during a couple steps in order to set pieces together, but you could do it by yourself, no problem. The only complaint was I ran out of glue, so make sure you have some wood glue or Elmer's glue around the house before starting. I also bought little felt furniture feet for the bottom of the desk to cover the cam nuts, to make sure the floor is not scratched. The desk seems very sturdy and I'm very happy with it!
