I got this light as opposed to the NeatFi XL because of it's high CRI. When I'm painting miniatures, I like having light that accurately represents the paints I'm slapping down. Otherwise, the mini will look one way during painting and another way when viewed on the table top.Don't be put off by the fact the lumen rating is lower than the NeatFi (I think it's almost 50% lower). Most of the time, you'll hold the miniature right under the light, maybe 6-8 inches away. If however you have to mount the light higher, you may need to consider another alternative.The only downside you'll need to factor in is these pretty much have to be mounted to the back edge of your desk. Once mounted there's really no side to side movement - the arm is pretty flexible but mostly up and down and to some degree backwards and forwards. But for instance if you have to mount the light off center, you're kind of out of luck as you won't be able to move the light to the right or left significantly.
